Halton Police arrest two impaired drivers, less than 30 minutes apart


On March 9th,  2016 at 12:46 am officers responded to a call from a citizen reporting a vehicle travelling on Wedgewood Dr. struck a parked car.



Police identified the female driver as a 39-year-old Burlington resident. She was displaying obvious signs of impairment and arrested for impaired driving.

Accused: Nicole BOFFO, 39 years of Burlington

Charges:

  • Impaired Operation
  • Over 80 mgs


At 01:10 am less than 30 minutes later a second impaired driver was arrested. While on proactive patrol, an officer observed a vehicle travelling eastbound on the QEW near Guelph Line. The vehicle was travelling without its headlights on. The officer stopped the vehicle and investigated the driver. The 23-year-old female driver failed the roadside screening test and was placed under arrest.

Accused: Danielle DOBBIN, 23 years of Toronto

Charges:

  • Over 80 mgs
  • Breach Probation


Police remind the public that suspected impaired drivers are a crime in progress and to utilize 9-1-1 to immediately report their observations.
