Illegal dumping in Caledon is potentially dangerous and costly

The Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is working closely with the Town of Caledon Fire and Emergency Services and Public Works Departments to investigate five illegal dumping incidents that have occurred over the past year.

Dumping of hazardous materials can pose public safety concerns and clean-up efforts can be very costly for all Town of Caledon taxpayers. The OPP are requesting citizens contact the police immediately when they observe suspicious vehicles dumping unknown materials, or immediately report any sightings after the fact.

Police are reminding residents to contact the OPP Communications Centre immediately at 1.888.310.1122 to report any suspicious activity or suspicious vehicles in the area. Information such as suspect physical descriptions, description of suspect vehicles and direction of travel are useful tools for investigators.
