Durham Regional Police charge London man with Historical Sexual Assault

A 42-year-old male from London has been charged after allegedly being involved in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a young boy.

Earlier this month, an adult male contacted police and made allegations of sexual assault that occurred in the mid-1990s. The victim reported that the suspect, who was in his 20s at the time, would babysit himself and his siblings during a period when he rented a basement apartment in the victim’s family home in Pickering. Between 1995 and 1999, the victim alleges inappropriate sexual activity with the suspect at the Pickering address, an address in Uxbridge where the family moved to and at a house in Tiverton, Ontario while on a family visit.

The suspect has lived in the London area since 1999 and has coached minor hockey.

On Wednesday, March 30, 2016, the suspect attended Central East Division where he was arrested.

Investigators want to ensure there are no other victims.

Danny TREPANIER, age 42, of Hawkesbury Avenue in London, is charged with: Sexual Assault x3; Sexual Interference x3; and Invitation to Sexual Touching x2. He was held for a bail hearing.
